“If you are treating the skin, and the skin disease may be due to the liver or due to the uterus, lungs, if you don’t treat these organs, you can’t solve the problem. If you do the Abhyanga, for example, modern medicine will never heal the diabetic person. But with Abhyanga and herbs, the patient gets well. The skin takes the responsibility (for the other organs).

FAQ’S
WHEN IS IT BEST TO DO ABHYANGA?
Most optimal time to do Abhyanga is in the morning before you shower on an empty stomach. Otherwise anytime during the day on an empty stomach is best.
DO I HAVE TO WASH THE OIL OFF MY BODY?
When doing self-Abhyanga it is very important to wash the oil afterward so that the toxins that have been pulled out are not reabsorbed. Best to avoid highly chemical or fragrant soaps to maximize the effect of the oil and to not irritate the skin. Also, avoid hot showers.
DO I HAVE TO PUT OIL ON MY HEAD EVERYDAY?
For girls this can be a challenge. I get it, I have such thick hair! If you have the time and don't mind about washing your hair do the full head massage as it gets all the nerves stimulated, is very grounding and nourishing for the mind and nervous system. If you don't want to wash your hair or don't have the time to do it, apply a bit of oil on the crown chakra and rub it in.
IS THERE ANY TIME THAT I SHOULDN'T DO SELF-MASSAGE OR GET AN ABHYANGA?
Yes, very good question, best to avoid self-massage or nasya when you are sick with fever, or when woman are menstruating.
